Description

Our firm specialises in agricultural law and taxation.  The principal Aisling Meehan qualified as a solicitor, tax consultant and qualified farmer and thus is well equipped to advise on legal and tax issues as it affects the family farm.

Rather than offer a broad range of legal services, we specialise solely in agricultural legal and tax matters.  Our office is located in converted farm buildings, is easily accessible and are informal in atmosphere.  Due to the specialised nature of our work we have clients all over the country and frequently travel to meet clients on their farms.

Aisling Meehan comes from a dairy farming background and has a hands-on experience of rural agricultural matters.  Her family have won awards for farming including Creamery Milk Supplier of the Year, Family Farm of the Year and an Environmental award.  As well as running a dairy enterprise, her family operate a conference centre which provides educational farm tours for national and international visitors alike.

Aisling was awarded a Nuffield Farming Scholarship in 2011 for a study entitled "Access to Land for Dairying - New Legal and Tax Models in an Irish Context".  Arising from that study she frequently is invited by the Department of Agriculture and other stakeholders to make submissions on policy issues as it affects farm families.  She is also a regular contributor to radio and print media and is currently solicitor with the Irish Farmers Journal adn a member of the editorial board of the Law Society Gazette
